
Based in Charlotte, Norwood Teague is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he earned a bachelor of arts in political science and communication. He later earned a master of arts in sports administration from Ohio University. Norwood Teague also completed doctoral coursework in budget and finance in higher education at Arizona State University.
Mr. Teague works as an event director for Business North Carolina Magazine, where he plans and executes large-scale conventions and summits, including mfgCON and the NC CEO Summit. His responsibilities include increasing participation and sponsorship of these events each year. His duties also entail developing agendas that feature engaging presenters and speakers.
Before working for Business North Carolina Magazine, he enjoyed a successful career as a director of athletics, working for Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Minnesota respectively. He also served as an associate athletic director of marketing for the University of North Carolina.
While he was working at the University of Minnesota, Norwood Teague secured sponsorships including a $45 million corporate gift from Land O’ Lakes, which helped fund the student athlete development center. His fundraising efforts significantly increased the school’s athletic budget without incurring debt or requiring additional funds from the university.
